Award and Scholarship applications are due March 21, 2021. See descriptions and applications below.
Each year the Colorado Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics receives nominations for awards and scholarships in the categories below. Once the winners are chosen, recipients are notified in early April and announced at the annual conference. If you know someone who you believes deserves one of these awards, complete the applications at the bottom of this page. Please send applications to eatrightcolorado@gmail.com.
AWARDS
Are you a program faculty or preceptor that would like to nominate a dietetic student for their emerging leadership and achievement? Students must be enrolled in an ACEND-accredited dietetics education program and must be Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics members by January 1, 2021 to qualify.
2021 Recognized Young Dietitian Award. Know a young RD who needs to be recognized? CAND would like to share the RYDY award to a young RD who shows commitment and leadership in our field. We are accepting nominations for RDs, 35 years of age or younger, who have shown excellence in legislation, research, education or management both with the association or in their employment.
2021 Emerging Dietetic Leader Award. This award recognizes new dietitians at the beginning of their dietetics careers, regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions to our field, especially in the areas of legislation, research, education and management.
2021 Recognized Dietetic Technician Award. Do you know a Dietetic Technician, Registered who goes above and beyond? Nominations are being accepted for DTRs with active membership with the AND and active participation in national, affiliate or district associations.
2021 Outstanding Dietitian Award. Please nominate outstanding dietitians to be recognized by both CAND and the Journal of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
2021 Outstanding Dietetic Student Award. This award recognizes students enrolled in Nutrition program at any course level.
SCHOLARSHIPS
2021 Member Scholarship. A scholarship of up to $300 is available for one member to cover fees for a professional development event.
2021 Conference Scholarship. CAND will award one member a registration to the 2021 CAND Annual Conference. The application must be a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
2021 CAND Board Member Conference Scholarship. CAND will award one CAND board member a registration to the 2021 CAND Annual Conference.
2021 Conference Student Scholarship. CAND will award one student member a registration to the 2021 CAND Annual Conference. The applicant must be a current student or a dietetic intern and a member of the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
