Each year the Colorado Academy of Nutrition & Dietetics receives nominations for awards and scholarships in the categories below. Once the winners are chosen, recipients are notified in early April and announced at the annual conference. If you know someone who you believes deserves one of these awards, complete the applications at the bottom of this page. Deadline to submit applications is March 30th of each year.

2018 Outstanding Dietitian Application: This individual has contributed to CAND through active participation in the national, state or district association. This includes but is not limited to service as an officer, committee chairman or member and/or association member. They have been an inspiration to others in the field and demonstrated high standards of professionalism and spirit of service to others in the field of dietetics or allied health fields. Additionally they have made contributions to the profession as a part of a broader contribution to human progress and improvement through leadership, research, education or management.
2018 Emerging Dietetic Leader Application: This award recognizes the competence, leadership and activities of dietitians, regardless of their age, who have made distinctive contributions to CAND and AND early in their dietetics career (practicing between 5-10 years). Not previously selected as RYDY or RDTY.
2018 Recognized Dietetic Technician Application: This award recognizes the professional contributions of dietetic technicians in Colorado and encourages their continued participation in Association affairs. This individual has demonstrated leadership in the Association and a concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional status of the population.
2018 Recognized Young Dietitian Application: This award recognizes the competence and activities of younger dietitians (35 years or younger) in the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics and encourages their continued participation in association affairs. This group will be an additional resource from which the leadership of the Association will develop both at the district, state, and national levels. They must have demonstrated leadership and concern for the promotion of optimal health and nutritional statues of the population.
2018 Outstanding Dietetic Student Application: A student from each type of ACEND-accredited dietetics education program within Colorado will be selected by the CAND (a maximum of four per state). These students must be nominated by program Faculty or Preceptors and have demonstrated academic achievement as documented by letters from nominees. Additionally, they must have demonstrated emerging leadership and professional potential.
